THE NEW WORLD: AN EXPERIENTIAL CONVERSATION WITH CINDA CRULL, MS, MDiv - Sunday, February 7th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

We’re living in an exciting time. There is a deliberate Consciousness afoot with which we can partner to enter into a refreshed life and world. We intended to be here now to participate in this amazingly transformative period in our personal and global history.

Join Cinda in the Sanctuary for an interesting and empowering perspective on the ‘doings’ around us and within us.

Through her services in JourneyWork, Cinda has counseled and offered classes to people on spirituality and life enhancement for over 25 years. She trained as a conscious channel, is a former Licensed Marriage and family Therapist, and is a seminary trained minister of an interfaith church.

ENLIGHTENED LEADERS WEBINAR WITH CINDY WIGGLESWORTH - Thursday, February 18th at 5:00 p.m.

Our second Enlightened Leadership webinar will be facilitated by Cindy Wigglesworth. I had the opportunity to experience Cindy at the Unity Conference last year and was captivated by her presentation. She will be showing us what is next for humanity and how Unity leaders fit into the picture. She will specifically focus on “Spiritual Intelligence.” We will learn how to “lead ourselves first” so that we may lead the way for all. A light finger food supper is provided. You may leave a love offering if you choose.

Everyone is welcome to attend and a signup sheet is in the kitchen so we know how much food to prepare.

Enlightened Leaders: This webinar is a must. Don’t forget to pull off your pre-webinar material and go through it before the webinar. Also, Enlightened Leaders, mark your calendars for Thursday, March 4th at 7:00 p.m. for our post-webinar meeting

SHARE YOUR GIFTS WORKSHOP - Sunday, February 21st from 12:030 noon until 3:00 p.m.

This workshop is led by Rev. Georgie Richardson and Diana Moskal, LUT and is a requirement for everyone wishing to become members of Unity of Salem. However, everyone is welcome to attend.

In this workshop we will help you to identify the skills, gifts and talents that you bring to Unity of Salem. Our goal is to link people's gifts with service opportunities for deeper and more fulfilling participation and heartfelt experiences.

There will also be information on the various avenues of service, training, and who to contact.

We invite everyone to this workshop. It will be informative, inspiring and fun! A signup sheet is on the kitchen counter so that we can prepare materials.

NEW MEMBER SUNDAY - Sunday, February 28th at 10:30 a.m.

Unity of Salem will be taking in fourteen new members on Sunday, March 28th during the regular Sunday service. These members have completed the required classes and workshops necessary now to join. Their assigned Mentors will introduce them to the congregation. Plan to attend and support them in their new community.

Refreshments will be served after the service in honor of the new members.

CURRENT NEWS

Monthly Food Drive - Sundays

Unity of Salem participates in the food sharing program put on by the Salvation Army. A barrel is placed in the kitchen to collect nonperishable food items throughout the month and when it is full, we contact the Salvation Army to pick up the full barrel and replace it with a new barrel. We are attempting to fill the barrel every month to assist those who are experiencing a financial downturn in their lives. Please consider bringing food items for the barrel on a regular basis.

Abundance Corner - Sundays

From time to time, our own spiritual community has people who need assistance to make it through to the end of the month. Because of this, we decided to create the Abundance Corner, which is in the unused storage area in the Bookstore, next to the restroom. Please bring nonperishable food items and items such as toilet paper, paper towels and such to share with our own folks.

If you are having trouble making it to the end of the month, please go to the Abundance Corner and take what you need. There are sacks beside the shelves in the Abundance Corner for your use.

CD's of Each Sunday Service - Available within 30 minutes after each Service

We are now able to put the full Sunday Service onto CD's for purchase in the Bookstore. The CD's are digital high-quality and contain everything from the service except announcements. Also, each section of the service is placed as a track on the CD so you are able to go to whatever track you are most interested in. The CD's are $5.00, which is payable in the Bookstore and available approximately 30 minutes after each service.

Partner With A Teen Program

The Unity of Salem Youth Education Department has a new opportunity for the congregation, its "Partner with a Teen" program. This program's intention is to make it possible for the Y.O.U. (high school age) and Uniteens (middle schoolers) to attend regional retreats AND to provide intergenerational connection within our spiritual community. The teens put on a number of fundraisers during the year. This raises about half the money needed for the eligible students to attend. Two events are scheduled for this summer. The events average $200 per person attending. We have several YOUers and a large number of Uniteens eligible to attend. You could participate in this program by writing an extra check for $100, marking it "Partner with a Teen" and putting it in the Sunday offering. We so appreciate several of the congregation who did just that the very first Sunday it was mentioned. There will be an opportunity for each teen to connect with his/her Partner to share about their experience.

FUTURE EVENTS

GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE - Friday, April 2nd at 7:00 p.m.

Join us for a special Good Friday service at 7:00 on Friday, April 2, 2010. Using Jesus' last words from the cross we will release those beliefs, ideas, and thoughts of lack and limitation that have been holding us in a consciousness of crucifixion.

EASTER SERVICE - Sunday, April 4th at 10:30 a.m.

Plan to join us on Easter Sunday, April 4th as we make a joyful noise unto the Lord and celebrate Easter together. We will have our traditional Living Cross. Plan to bring a flower (or two) and help decorate the Cross before the service begins so we can enjoy it throughout the service.

REGULAR EVENTS

Sunday

Service Schedule - Service and youth education at 10:30 a.m.

Pathfinders - A discussion of applying Unity principles in daily life. The group is led by Ed and Kay Lent. They discuss "how to walk our talk" while applying Unity principles. Everyone is welcome! Pathfinders meets through May in the Bookstore at 9:00 a.m.

Noetic Science - First and third Sundays, 6:00-8:30 pm, in the Y.O.U. room in the modular (Building D).

Sharing & Caring Sunday - First Sunday of each month, please bring food for the homeless program.

Monday

ASK Group Meeting - 7:00 p.m. The Ask Group studies material from the Teachings of Abraham brought forth through Esther Hicks. The group meets every Monday night from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the modular. They listen to CD's or read from some of the Abraham material and discuss the material in greater depth. If you are interested in attending, you will need to read the book "Ask and It Is Given" by Esther and Jerry Hicks, then attend the meetings in September to decide if you would like to continue on with a 3-month commitment. There is a fee of $2.00 per month to cover the cost of the CD's.

Tuesday

Power Of Soul Healing and Discussion Group - 7:00 p.m. Roger and Diane Givens continue to offer individual soul healing for any condition, such as physical, relationships and finances for 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesdays in the bookstore.

Following the individual healings from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m., Roger and Diane continue to facilitate a book discussion group based on Dr. Zhi Gang Sha’s Soul Power series.

Everyone is welcome to attend either or both of these powerful experiences. A donation of $10.00 is collected at the door.

Choir Practice - 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary

AA Group Meeting - 7:30 p.m. in the Bookstore

Thursday

Noon Meditation and brown-bag lunch - in the Modular.

UNITY PEOPLE'S CONVENTION - June 7th - 11th, 2010 San Diego, California

Unity People's Convention will be held in San Diego, CA on June 7th through June 11th. Keynote Speakers will be: Doug Krug, Julie Montague, Wayne Elsey, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Joseph Myers, Dr. Michael Beckwith and Rickie Byars Beckwith. Workshops will be facilitated by Cindy Wigglesworth, Gary Simmons and Rima Bonario, Bernon and Charlene Armitage, Diane Venzera, Wayne Elsey, Kristine Theurer and Myles Murchison, Kathryn Kellogg and Jane Simmons, Temple Hayes, and Jane Chase.
